Discount calculator

An instant discount calculator: enter the price and % off to get the final price, or find the % between two prices, including capped coupons.

In short

The formula
Final price = price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A 15% discount on 400 leaves 340.
Capped codes
If a code is capped, the saving stops at the cap: 10% capped at 50 on an 800 basket gives 50, not 80.

Working out a percentage discount step by step

1) Turn the percentage into a decimal: 15% becomes 0.15. 2) Multiply the price: 400 × 0.15 = 60. 3) Subtract: 400 − 60 = 340.

To find the discount between two prices, subtract the new price from the old one, divide by the old price and multiply by 100. From 500 down to 350: 150 ÷ 500 × 100 = 30%.

Why the cap changes everything

Most store codes have a maximum. A 10% code capped at 50 on an 800 basket gives you 50, not 80, so your effective discount is only 6.25%. Enter the cap in the calculator to see the real saving and the basket size where you get full value.

Real examples: noon's AUC64 pays 10% cashback up to SAR 150, so the ideal Saudi first basket is SAR 1,500. Namshi's ANP9 is 20% up to 50, so it maxes out at a 250 basket. Level Shoes ACD99 gives 10% on star items with no published cap.

Two discounts in a row are not added together

If an item is already 30% off and you apply a 10% code, the total discount is 37%, not 40%. A 100 price drops to 70, then 10% of 70 is 7, so you pay 63. The calculator applies discounts in sequence for exactly this reason.

Instant discount or cashback?

Cashback doesn't reduce what you pay today. It returns part of it to your store wallet later. If you're unlikely to shop at that store again soon, a smaller instant discount can be worth more to you than a larger cashback percentage.

Discounts and VAT

Prices in Saudi Arabia (15% VAT) and the UAE (5% VAT) are displayed including tax, and the discount is normally calculated on the VAT-inclusive price. You don't need to add tax after working out the discount.

Common mistakes

Put the number to work

Use the calculator right before you pay, then head to the right code page: noon Saudi, noon UAE, Namshi Saudi or Level Shoes UAE. If you plan to split the payment, the Tabby and Tamara calculator shows each instalment after the code.

Worked example with a capped code

Say you have a Namshi basket of 400 and the ANP9 code. Twenty percent of 400 is 80, but the code stops at 50, so you pay 350. The effective discount is 50 ÷ 400 = 12.5%. Now take a 250 basket: 20% is exactly 50, so you get the full 20%. That is why the calculator shows the basket size at which a cap kicks in.

The same logic applies to noon's cashback. In the UAE the first-order cap is AED 50, reached at AED 500. A AED 1,000 first order still earns only AED 50, an effective 5%. Splitting a big purchase is not always possible, but knowing the effective rate helps you decide whether a bank offer would beat the code.

How to use the calculator

FAQs

Are the results accurate?

The maths is exact. Your final checkout total can still differ if a store applies fees or excludes items.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. It was designed mobile-first and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

Do I need to register?

No. The calculator is completely free and nothing is saved.

How do I calculate 20% off 350?

350 × 0.20 = 70, so you pay 280. With Namshi's ANP9 the saving would be capped at 50, leaving 300.

Is 30% plus 10% equal to 40%?

No. Sequential discounts compound, so 30% then 10% equals 37% in total.

What's the effective discount on a capped code?

Divide the actual saving by the basket value. A 50 saving on a 400 basket is 12.5%, even if the code says 20%.
