Why the effective rate differs from the headline rate

The percentage printed on a code only holds until you hit the cap. After that the saving is a fixed amount however large the basket gets, so the effective rate falls.

Take Namshi: ANP9 gives 20% up to 50. On a basket of 250 you get 50, a true 20%. On 500 you still get 50, which is 10%. On 1,000 it is 5%. That's why the calculator shows the effective rate whenever you go past the cap.

Instant discount vs cashback: how the maths differs

With an instant discount (Namshi and Level Shoes) the amount you pay drops straight away, so the result shows up in the “You pay” line.

With cashback (noon) you pay the full basket, and the saving is added to your noon Credits after delivery. Credits can't be withdrawn to a bank and they expire, so only count them as a saving if you'll shop at noon again. The calculator therefore shows two figures for noon: what you pay now, and the net cost after cashback.

Cash-on-delivery charges

Paying cash at the door isn't free everywhere. noon adds SAR 18 in Saudi Arabia and AED 12 in the UAE, and Namshi adds SAR 34 and AED 15. On a small basket that fee can wipe out most of what the code saves.

Level Shoes lists no cash-on-delivery fee, but any cash order you return is refunded as an e-gift card that only works online. Paying by card or Apple Pay keeps your right to get the money back to your account.

What to do when your basket is past the cap

If your basket is far above the level that reaches the cap, the code gives you a fixed amount that won't grow. That's the moment to compare it with a bank card offer, because the two can't be combined at noon or Namshi and the bank's cap may be higher. Our promo code vs bank offer calculator does the comparison.

During sale seasons the code applies to the marked-down price unless the terms exclude the item, so when you buy can matter more than the code. Dates are in the sales calendar.

What the calculator can't know

The numbers use the code terms on our store pages and the stores' published delivery fees. The calculator can't see which items a code excludes, temporary store promotions, or optional express-delivery fees. The Level Shoes code only works on items with the star (★) badge, so enter the value of those items alone.

Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is stored. Always go by the total on the checkout page before you confirm the order.

FAQs

Is the calculator free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and every calculation runs in your browser.

What's the best basket size for Namshi's ANP9?

250 riyals or dirhams: that's where you get the full cap of 50.

What's the best basket size for noon's AUC64?

For a new customer, SAR 1,500 in Saudi Arabia or AED 500 in the UAE; for an existing customer, SAR 400 or AED 200.

Does the Level Shoes code have a cap?

No cap is published for ACD99, and it applies only to items with the star (★) badge.

Does the result include delivery?

Yes for Namshi, Level Shoes and noon One members. For noon non-members the fee is shown at checkout because noon doesn't publish it.
