What the AED 12 really costs you
On small orders the fee bites hardest. An AED 150 order becomes AED 162, so the fee equals 8% of the order: more than the 5% cashback AUC64 gives an existing customer. On a small basket, paying electronically is clearly the cheaper option.
The UAE fee is lower than Saudi Arabia's (SAR 18). It has changed over time too; it was AED 13 in 2024, so check the figure shown at checkout.
Why 'cash on delivery unavailable' appears
- Your order is above the AED 6,500 limit.
- The basket includes a Global Store item or something that requires prepayment.
- You chose a locker or a gift address.
- Previously refused deliveries can switch the option off for your account.

Refunds on cash orders
Returns on cash-on-delivery orders are refunded to noon Credits. In the UAE you can then transfer that balance to your bank from the app, which isn't how it works in Saudi Arabia. The AED 12 fee itself isn't refunded after delivery. Full details on noon UAE returns.
Paying by card at the door
Whether the courier can take a card depends on the driver and the area. If you want certainty, prepay. Cash on delivery is available across most of the UAE.
Cheaper alternatives
Card, Apple Pay, Tabby or Tamara all avoid the fee and make refunds faster. If you prefer cash because you want to split the cost, look at installments instead: Tabby and Tamara spread payments interest-free.

When cash still makes sense
Cash on delivery is useful if you're buying from a seller for the first time and want to see the parcel before paying, or if you don't have a card that works online. Just price the AED 12 into the decision: on an AED 1,000 order it's a small share; on an AED 100 order it's 12%.
Order limits and big purchases
The AED 6,500 ceiling rules out cash for most high-end laptops and large appliances. For those, look at bank installment plans over AED 500 or at Tabby and Tamara, which avoid the fee and spread the cost.
Cash on delivery vs the code's value
For existing customers, AUC64 pays 5% up to AED 10. On any order where you choose cash, the AED 12 fee is bigger than the maximum existing-customer cashback. In practice that means an existing customer paying cash is always behind compared with paying by card, even with the code applied.
